Mission

 

The mission of the Library and Scientific Information Centre of the Poznań University of Life Sciences is to provide users with access to national and global scientific information resources through the use of the latest information technologies. As a university-wide unit, it supports the education and research conducted at the University by creating a unified library and information system. The Library’s mission is consistent with the development strategy of its parent University.

The Library fulfils its mission through:

  1. Developing an interdisciplinary collection in line with the scientific profile of the Poznań University of Life Sciences and its teaching programme.
  2. Professional processing, storage and protection of library collections.
  3. Providing multi-channel access to the Library’s resources and information sources in both traditional and electronic form.
  4. Adapting services to the changing needs of users.
  5. Developing readers’ skills in searching for and selectively using information resources.
  6. Documenting the scholarly output of the University’s academic staff.
  7. Conducting research in the field of scientific information and library science.
  8. Continuously improving the professional competences of its staff and strengthening their motivation to work.
  9. Building a positive image of the Library within the academic community and maintaining ongoing cooperation with other libraries in Poland and abroad.
  10. Initiating broad cooperation with the wider academic and professional environment.
